Reaching the third floor to the Homexpress office is a task in and of itself, especially if the lift is not working. And if the lift is working then half the people are too scared to use it. Before entering the office, don’t ignore the little metal step at the door. I would know because I almost fell over it. The first person you see is your one and only Rehan Bhai, running around juggling a bunch of mugs in his hand as he constantly makes coffee and tea for all those chronic caffeine addicts. Gradually walking more into the office you gaze upon Raheel and the riders {makes them sound like some dangerous political party doesn’t it?} As they sit in their little corner, by the kitchen, oblivious as to what in the world theyre always talking about. Its when you look to your right should you be concerned as to the comments you might get, especially if your not on time. Indeed. It is the cubicle of Shah Jahan and Shahrukh. Its usually when theyre engrossed in their laptops, is when you can breathe a sigh of relief. The next person your likely to see is Kinza, who, not very different from the Chaudhary brothers, is also very much into her beloved laptop. Catching Sarah’s attention is probably the biggest task in the office because shes usually occupied by phonecalls, clients and other business related things. Seeing her makes us internees feel even more useless. Haha. Coming to the bigger cubicle in the office, consisting of Amin, Zoya and Hira. Zoya’s usually hard at work unless she gets a sudden urge to order a subway cookie. Then all work must come to a halt. One thing that ive noticed about Hira is the speed at which she eats….which is chronically SLOW. At lunch time, when people are on their seconds and thirds, Hiras probably half way through her first. =) Amins usually staring blindly at his laptop, with his feet occupying another chair, without realizing the someones been calling him ten times already! Moving on to the neighbouring cubicle, you hear the clicking and typing of the oh so quiet shamila. And if you happen to ask her a question, make sure your atleast in a 3 inch radius. Although no one can ever deny her designing skills. She even gives Shahrukhs critique a run for his money. I would know cos rejecting my designs is Shahrukhs favorite things to do! Next, if you here someone say that theyre bored or hungry or sleepy, you know that is could be one person only….Sonia. Although her random comments may be disturbing for someone new and she occasionally finishes ALL the minute maid, she still never fails to say something strangely funny and entertaining. Another culprit involved in the disappearing act of the minute maid is Shezy. Little does anyone realize that his existence is an integral part of homexpress as he pops in out of of everyones cubicle just so that everyone can “apparently†feel honoured by his presence. Two people whose absence at homexpress truly makes it a quieter place are Ammar and Mahwish. Her hard work and dedication was none like any other yet she still remained the target for Ammar to constantly ridicule her, from disconnecting her pc to prank calling her to smacking her with a pillow, admittedly it was true entertainment to watch it happen. Hence we never said anything. =) Over the cubicle wall you see Ahmed Bhai who is usually effortlessly working on Photoshop and if he happens to stand up, its usually cos he wants the phone….and that’s a different hassle all together because the poor phone has probably been tangled, unfortunately always around my chair, and has fallen time and time again. The two biggest problems at Homexpress is figuring out what to have for lunch and finding the usb. Hell freezes over if the usb is misplaced and people begin to play the blame game. When found, everyone breathes a sigh of relief and continue working like nothing was ever wrong. Similarly, when lunch time draws nearer, all you hear in the office is the different food options to eat. And until and unless there isn’t a mutual agreement, all work is temporarily put aside. After a long day of “work†and a bit of relaxation (ignore the sarcasm) one can truly say that Homexpress is more than just an office…it’s a family. =)

Traditionally, the Ojibwa nation construct dreamcatchers by tying sinew strands in a web around a small round or tear-shaped frame of willow. The resulting \"dream-catcher\", hung above the bed, is then used as a charm to protect sleeping children from nightmares. Dreamcatchers made of willow and sinew are not meant to last forever but instead are intended to dry out and collapse over time as the child enters the age of adulthood. Hence it is a must to see such traditional pieices of art so deeply driven by culture! Address: A-3 Hassan Homes, Block 5, Clifton, Karachi. Yesterday I was driving down Shahbaz until the red light of the signal flickered to tell me stop. As I gazed up at the number of seconds i had to wait, i felt like i was already waiting a lifetime!...Just then a small boy came up to my window holdng a rather old man\'s hand who was apparently blind. They begged for money for the longest time and i eventually got fed up and gave them a twenty rupee note. When ten seconds where left on the signal and the cars started to get restless I saw a sight that disturbed or rather shocked me! The old man freed himself from the little boys hand and ran to the sidewalk, attentivlely looking right and left for his safety from the crazy Karachi driving. Appauled at the fact that this man would decieve his own physical abilities for money disgusted me as a drove away. Just then i was reminded of the terrible conditions of our country and what we can do to fix it. So next time your at a signal and a blind man asks you for money...make sure he\'s ACTUAULLY blind.

Karachi\'s golden sand beaches stretched over miles and miles in the outskirts of the city could have been the most outstanding feature both for tourism as well as the economic development of the country. The drive is around and hour and half from the main city and the area is isolated and peacful! You may enjoy camel or horse rides or just a quiet time with the waves. For a leisurely trip, crabbing is always fun. You are not going to actually catch any crabs, but the boatman keeps enough crabs on hand and cooks them fresh along with fish. Delicious! A crabbing trip is easy to arrange and can be done just about any day of the week.
